About Mojere

Not a directory. A different way of arriving.

Mojere exists because everyone deserves a life in a new country without the tax of constantly explaining themselves.

Why Mojere exists

Finding a hair braider who knows 4C hair. A tax accountant who understands foreign income. An immigration consultant who won’t disappear with your $12,000. A halal caterer who is actually halal. A barber who has cut hair like yours before.

For millions of immigrants and their children in Canada and the UK, these aren’t small conveniences. They’re the difference between feeling at home and feeling like a permanent outsider. And the current ways of finding them — chaotic WhatsApp groups, Facebook recommendation threads, cousin networks, and dated 2014-era directories — either exclude you if you’re new, overwhelm you if you’re not, or burn you if you’re unlucky.

Mojere is built on a simple conviction: when you walk into a salon, an accountant’s office, or a lawyer’s waiting room, you shouldn’t have to spend the first hour explaining your hair type, your country of origin, or your immigration status. The service is the transaction. The absence of explaining is the product.

We’re the multicultural vendor marketplace for Canada and the United Kingdom — verified vendors, searchable by community, city, language, and category. Free for customers. Free to list as a vendor. Paid only when you’re ready to grow. No commission on bookings, ever.

What makes Mojere different

Cross-community, not single-diaspora. Most cultural directories cover one group — only Black-owned, only African, only Filipino. Mojere lets you find vendors across African, Caribbean, South Asian, Filipino, Chinese, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and other communities in one place, because the Nigerian mom also needs a Filipina nanny and the Syrian family also needs a Punjabi accountant.

Services, not just shops. Groceries and ethnic products are well served. What isn’t: braiders, tax filers, caterers, immigration consultants, barbers, tailors, event planners, translators. The fragmented half of the diaspora economy. That’s what Mojere covers first.

Past the welcome packet. Settlement agencies and newcomer info sites serve you for your first year. Mojere serves you for years two through ten — when you’re past the basics but still need vendors who understand your life.

Community-verified, not just star-rated. Reviews filtered by community tags. Vendors who state their country of origin, languages spoken, and specific certifications upfront. Trust signals that actually match how you decide whether someone is for you.

Our Values

The principles that guide everything we do.

Community First

Every decision starts with how it serves our communities. We listen to immigrants and newcomers, not to investors or Wall Street. Your success is our success.

Trust & Safety

We verify every vendor personally. No shortcuts. Every profile is reviewed for legitimacy, insurance, and quality. Your safety and peace of mind come first.

Cultural Relevance

From African hair braiders to Filipino accountants, Jamaican mechanics to Indian grocers, we celebrate the full diversity of services that immigrant communities actually need.

Inclusivity

Mojere is for everyone. Multiple languages, accessible design, and payment flexibility. Your immigration status, accent, or first language should never be a barrier.

Impact

We measure success in real dollars earned by vendors and real problems solved for customers. Economic empowerment is our north star.

Innovation

We use technology to solve real problems that immigrants face every day: language barriers, verification anxiety, and isolation. Tech serves community, never the other way around.
